Carmel E. Ballheimer

Carmel E. Ballheimer, 85, of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:58 A.M., Friday, September 27, 2002 at her residence.  She was a resident of Pinckneyville for 49 years and a resident of Du Quoin for the past 35 years.
Carmel was a retired Under Presser and worked at the Pinckneyville Garment Factory for 26 years.  She was a member of Sunfield Baptist Church for 20 years.  She was a member of ILGWU for 26 years.
She was born September 20, 1917 in Perry County, IL the daughter of Harman and Winnie Belle (Arnett) Miller.  She married Richard Ballheimer on February 4, 1932 in Murphysboro, IL and he preceded her in death on March 2, 1973.
She is survived by daughter - Barbara Stevens and husband Bill of Du Quoin, son - Ronald Ballheimer and wife Delores of Du Quoin, four grandchildren - Sherry Pfeaster, Gary Fann, Mary Ann McPartlin, and Ronnie Ballheimer Jr., seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son - Floyd Ballheimer, three brothers - Clarence Miller, Murell Miller, and Jewell Miller, three sisters - Lorene Jenkel, Phyllis Morgan, and Bernice Nanney.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 30, 2002 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Everett Freeman officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Sunday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery at Pinckneyville, IL.
